Laura Beech

Laura Beech

Laura Beech joined the team at our Knutsford office in March 2013.

She is a chartered town planner, with over ten years of planning consultancy experience. Prior to joining Walsingham Planning, Laura worked for Roger Tym & Partners as an associate and for DPP as a principal planner.

Laura has worked for a wide range of public and private sector clients. However, she specialises in the retail and commercial leisure sector and has extensive experience of undertaking retail impact assessments, town centre health checks and sequential site assessments.

She has experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and co-ordinating the submission of complex planning applications. She is also adept at undertaking public consultation exercises and assisting with planning appeals, including the preparation of proofs of evidence.

Recent projects have included the submission of a planning application for a mixed-use retail and commercial leisure scheme in Wakefield; assisting with an application for an out-of-centre food superstore in Altrincham; and the preparation of Planning and Retail Statements to support applications for discount foodstores on sites across the country.

Outside work Laura enjoys relaxing with her son, walking in the countryside and participating in fun runs.

Simon Millett

Simon Millett

Simon Millett joined the Bourne End team in December 2013 as an assistant planner.

He completed undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield and is a full member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Simon has experience of working in local government at Norwich City Council and as a statutory consultee at Sport England. Since joining the Practice Simon has worked on a number of projects making planning applications and conditions submissions and researching and preparing supporting documents for large scale schemes.

Outside work he regularly competes in athletics events and supports Norwich City FC.

Euan Brown

Euan Brown

Euan Brown joined Walsingham Planning’s Bourne End office in October 2014.

Euan is a chartered town planner with over eight years of private sector planning experience. Prior to joining Walsingham Planning he worked in the on-shore unconventional gas sector, first as Planning Manager for Greenpark Energy Ltd. and then as Land and Planning Associate at Dart Energy Ltd.

He has experience of taking development projects forward from inception to delivery on site. Euan has worked on land acquisition, led the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments by multi-disciplinary teams and prepared and submitted complex planning applications in England, Scotland and Wales. He has organised and participated in public consultation events, successfully submitted written planning appeals and negotiated S106 agreements.

Euan also has over three years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary consultancy working on residential, retail, industrial and mixed used developments. This included conducting housing land supply assessments in support of residential development applications and representations on emerging development plans.

Euan is a keen skier who also enjoys tennis and rugby, albeit primarily from the spectator’s point of view.

Tom Edmunds

Tom Edmunds

Tom Edmunds joined the Bourne End office as a consultant in 2016. He holds a Master of Planning (MPlan) degree from the University of Liverpool and is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Tom has ten years of planning consultancy experience, and prior to joining Walsingham Planning has previously worked in the London planning teams at Savills, and at Bilfinger GVA.

His career has previously involved a geographical focus on development in central London, and his private sector consultancy experience is wide-ranging.

It includes residential, office, hotels, retail, and food & drink, and with project experience including new build development, redevelopment, conversions, and heritage and conservation projects; he has been involved in a wide range of scales of projects ranging from householder applications to large scale development projects. His experience includes preparing planning appraisals, planning appeals, instructing counsel, and making representations on development plans.

Away from the office Tom can be found walking or jogging (albeit slowly!) around the Chilterns or North Wessex Downs, playing badminton, and gardening.

Jonathan Chick

Jonathan Chick

Jonathan Chick joined IJP in 2013, which has since become the Walsingham Planning Bristol office. Prior to joining IJP Jonathan graduated from Sheffield University with a BA in Geography and from the University of the West of England with an MA in Town and Country Planning.

He is a Chartered member of the RTPI and has experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and co-ordinating the submission of large scale residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.

In his spare time Jonathan enjoys playing football and cricket, and is also a keen skier.

Jake McLeod

Jake McLeod

Jake McLeodjoined the Knutsford Office as student intern in June 2014, after completing his third year at the University of Manchester.

He will continue his education in September 2015 with a view to achieving an RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning. Jake is a Student member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Since joining us he has been involved in researching, preparing supporting documents for a variety of schemes and monitoring planning applications. As his experience grows he will start to take his own case load.

In his spare time, Jake supports Liverpool FC and enjoys socialising with friends.
