Mark Thackeray is a Principal Consultant at the Bourne End office.
Mark, who joined the practice in 1995, hails from Worcester and studied Town Planning at Cardiff University.
On graduation he worked in local government in South Wales before a long stint with Reading Borough Council’s local planning and development control teams.
Over sixteen years he rose from Senior Planner to Development Control Manager, heading up the Council’s DC and Enforcement functions.
He has been a member of the RTPI since 1980.
In 1992 he jumped ship and set up his own consultancy practice, MTP, before joining CW & Co on a full-time basis.
Since that time he has worked on behalf of many of the country’s leading breweries, pub management companies, restaurant chains and hotel operators.
He now has responsibility for the company’s dealings with Premier Inn across the south of the country and for the ROKO/Play Football leisure developments
Mark has also retained many contacts and clients in the Reading and surrounding area, and works on housing, commercial and retail schemes.
Outside the office Mark has retired gracefully from the playing of football, cricket, rugby and squash and now keeps fit playing golf, badly, jogging around the byways of the Chilterns and line dancing.
A lifelong Villa fan, he makes the regular pilgrimage to Villa Park (next season Europe!) as a season ticket holder.
