Stephen Brooker is a Director of the Company who joined the Practice in April 1987 bringing major leisure sector clients with him.

Stephen has run the Bourne End Office since 1994 when Cliff set up the northern office in Knutsford.

He now has a wider role, taking responsibility for both offices.

He previously worked as Planning Assistant and Senior Planner in local government (Hertfordshire CC and Dacorum Borough Council) before moving into private practice in 1983 to set up and run a planning consultancy within a firm of estate agents with offices in Herts, Bucks and Oxfordshire.

Stephen has worked with a very wide variety of clients on many different projects specialising in the Leisure sector.

He pioneered the planning aspects of the coffee shop chains that are now common features of many High Streets, establishing the boundaries of what needed planning permission, and has worked on hundreds of public house, restaurant and hotel projects across England and Wales.

He has also worked in other aspects of the Leisure field, advising on and obtaining planning permissions for golf courses, five-a-side football centres and tennis centres, as well as a wide variety of projects in other sectors.

Stephen has been a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 1981 and is experienced at instructing Counsel and giving evidence to Public Inquiries.

Away from the office Stephen enjoys mountain walking, mountaineering and has followed a long playing career in hockey by coaching at his home club in Banbury and managing one of junior County teams. He is also Treasurer of the Hall in his village and Treasurer of the village charities.
