Education and Activity Centres – Walsingham Planning help to expand the outdoor activities and accommodation
Kingswood Learning & Leisure Ltd, West Runton & Overstrand, Norfolk, Isle of Wight and Carlisle.
This successful company owns and operates residential education and activity centres throughout the country that school children from 7 – 16 can go to for short stays to continue learning and take part in adventure and other activities, broadening their personal development.
Walsingham Planning have been involved in the centres at Scant Duke in Penstone, West Runton & Overstrand in Norfolk, Carlisle, Stafford and the Isle of Wight.
At Overstand and West Runton we negotiated permissions for extensions and changes of use for staff and student accommodation, resolved the threat of potential enforcement before any further action became necessary and gained permission for new outside activities.
At Scant Duke we obtained permission for an activity barn with new classrooms and outside activities, we also advised when permission was not required for some outside play equipment.
At the Isle of Wight, we negotiated approval for large scale climbing/play equipment and the diversion of a public footpath away from the centre, which required careful discussions with local residents, Ramblers Association, Parish Council and District Council to achieve a solution acceptable to the Company.
