Green belt & conservation area refusal for pub extension – Walsingham Planning negotiate the solution
Clients The Restaurant Group hoped to add an extension to their successful restaurant, Edwinns, but ran into difficulties when the planning application submitted by their architect was refused.
Walsingham Planning were asked to advise how best to proceed.
Given the sensitive Green Belt location and the possibility of agreeing an acceptable design solution, Walsingham Planning recommended negotiations with the Council seeking a solution rather than resorting to appeal.
Minimal compromise to the substance of the scheme was necessary as Walsingham Planning were able to negotiate a revised design.
This pragmatic approach paid dividends when the planning application was approved in a shorter timescale and with less risk, uncertainty and cost to the client than pursuit of an appeal.
