Its really has begun now witha record breaking performance for the Walsingham Wheelers
Article by the Walsingham Wheelers
Monday 22 September – 84 miles. After leaving Greenwich earlier than expected at 6.40 the Walsingham Wheelers arrived at Dover at 15.15 and Brian our Ride Leader (who has done more London to Paris trips than he can remember) told us that we were the fastest team he has ever taken from Greenwich to Dover. Can that really be six rookies from Walsingham Planning who have never ridden together before as a team? So as I write this we are in our hotel in Calais with beer in hand. Day 1 complete, no punctures, mechanicals, fallings off, or tantrums, and only one blister (Lisa) to report. Team spirits are high and we pleased to see that the Macmillan Cancer Support donations are still coming in so thank you!
Furthermore, we have had more sponsorship for MacMillan Cancer Support coming in throughout the day.
Lisa – “not as hard as I anticipated!” and “My bum feels better than golden pants” Rob –“B****y great – hills not as hard as the C2C!” Simon- “my bum is going to be sore tomorrow!”
There is little one can say after a remark like that!!
