Listed building and archaeology support
We have experience of dealing with many listed buildings, grades I, II and II*, throughout mainland UK, as well as ancient monuments.
Many Councils take the position that all works to listed buildings require listed building consent (LBC). In fact, this is far from the case. We’ve helped many clients save a lot of time and money by identifying works they can carry out without seeking LBC.
If you want to apply for planning permission for works that will require LBC you will need to show how you will minimise or mitigate the potential impact on the special interest of the building. We can help you do this by preparing a heritage asset statement.
If we feel you need further specialist advice we have a wide network of professionals we can call on. These include archaeologists, archaeological geophysicists and architectural historians who we can bring in as appropriate.
If possible we would suggest getting us in to carry out a detailed site inspection as early as possible so we can provide guidance to bear in mind at the design stage.
